Here he is at 6 weeks old and I realize I keep saying this but I can't get over how fast he is growing. Grady is a big baby, at least that is what everyone tells me. He is a very happy little guy, expect from 5 pm til 8 pm - this is his cranky time. Poor Dave, I feel so bad that by the time he gets home from work Grady is a little hand full. I know he misses when Grady was a week or two old and would just sleep on his chest when he got home. Thank God I found gripe water (organic fennel and ginger extract to help with tummy troubles)!
We have had some more firsts in the Schoen household. My favorite is that Grady is definitely smiling back at us when we talk to him. Before it was just gas. Of course every time I try to capture this killer smile, he stops. Oh well, you'll have to wait until his professional infant pictures are ready to see this smile. He tracks toys when we move them left to right in front of him and gets captivated by the fireplace, curtains, and of course his whale paintings. He is really good at holding his head up for a short time too. We do tummy time a lot and I can't get over in one week how much stronger he got.
We also had our first road trip to Raleigh to see my family. Grady did so good for the 5 hour trip - he slept the entire time. (Yes concerned parents, we stopped halfway to feed, change, and let Grady stretch out!) I swear the weekend flew by - it just goes too fast every time we go to NC, but even more so now with Grady. I love seeing my parents and sisters with him - they are so in love.
Aunt Sarah got up all night and came to our room hoping to rescue Grady, but he stayed quiet and sound asleep the whole weekend. |
Aunt Meghan finally got to give him that bottle! |
I think Aunt Meghan and Uncle Jon may have been bitten by the baby bug! |
Grady got to meet Uncle Jon and loves him |
Sarah and Jonathan let us crash their house - and I do mean crash. We took over their guest room and when we had Jonathan's brother Jeff take Grady's pictures we also took over their room! (Pictures to come soon, I promise it is worth the wait!) They were so cute getting the house cleaned and ready for Grady. They even brought in an antique rocker that Jonathan's dad was rocked in as a baby - so sweet.
We went and visited mom, excuse me Nona, at work so that she could show off her grandson. Somehow I didn't get pictures with Nona and PopPop the whole weekend :(
We had lunch with Carson and Reaves. Dave and Carson's husband Joe grew up best buddies. It is so cool now that Dave and Joe have sons 9 months apart. Somehow I think these two will get into trouble together - like father like son!
Love me some Reaves! |
Switch. I can't believe Grady is going to be that big someday! |
We were also able to stop by and say hi to Chad, who is expecting his first baby this June. Babies, babies everywhere this year!
And finally, the beautiful bride-to-be Kristin came by to meet baby Grady. She is such a natural with him - look out Kristin it is definitely in the water!
I can't wait to share with you the amazing pictures Jeff Massey took of Grady, coming soon...
XOXO,
Court
